Mark started his career in the hospitality industry where he was a Licensed House Manager, responsible for the overall management of licensed outlets. During his time in the industry, he also trained as a chef. 

A move into the financial services industry followed when he joined financial service multinational Citigroup. Here, he managed contact centres servicing consumer retail finance products including personal loans, credit cards, secured loans and motor finance, where he showed his exceptional managerial strengths, proactive work ethic and a commitment to achieving business objectives. 

Following this, he moved to the credit and risk area of the business. As Litigation Manager he managed the late-stage recoveries and litigation for unsecured lending and real estate lending for the UK group of companies. 

This acquired expertise in litigation was later put to good use when Mark was asked to establish a litigation department for one of the UK's largest utility providers, United Utilities. Pioneering the use of data for account selection and treatment paths, this project, to establish a high-capacity litigation function, included operation process mapping, creation and monitoring, along with the recruitment and training of required personnel, providing him with crucial experience in scaling up business operational capacity whilst maintaining quality and compliance.
